Greece: Government systematic constraints and politically motivated accusations against migrants rights NGOs must end!
The International Federation for Human Rights – FIDH has issued a statement on Greece, calling for an end to the systematic targeting of civil society organisations active in the fields of asylum and migration.
- It points out that pressures are exerted and restrictions are imposed on organisations defending the rights of refugees and migrants in Greece.
- It calls on the Greek authorities to put an end to practices that undermine the work of these organisations and to ensure that they do not face adverse consequences for their activities.
- It underlines that the targeting of organisations is not an isolated phenomenon but part of a broader pattern of restrictions and pressures against civil society.
The Hellenic League for Human Rights, as an active member of FIDH, will continue to cooperate with international and Greek organisations to safeguard a free and safe civic space in Greece.
