A New Gender Era: A project to tackle gender stereotypes

The Hellenic League for Human Rights and the Gender Alliance joined forces to contribute to tackling gender stereotypes and to the development of new, alternative and positive narratives around gender in Greece.

The activities of the project “A New Gender Era”, which was implemented from February 2023 to January 2024, focused on new audiences as well as on spaces of public discourse, the media and advertising.

The project provided training opportunities on gender stereotypes to various professional groups working with young people. At the same time, large-scale awareness-raising actions were carried out, including a nationwide campaign and a youth-led initiative on social media. In addition, mutual learning activities were implemented to explore, document, and disseminate best practices for avoiding the reproduction of gender stereotypes and promoting positive, alternative gender narratives.
