Direct Action Against Racist Violence – NA.F.TH.A. was founded in spring 2013 in Thessaloniki, as a collaboration between organizations, collectives, and individuals, and already counts among its achievements a court victory (for the case of racist conduct by a Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization – OASTH – bus driver), in addition to having publicized other cases of racist violence in the Thessaloniki area. Following the recent electoral results (May 2014), those of us who participate in this action are calling on all citizens and collectives to remain vigilant against possible incidents falling within the remit of NA.F.TH.A., so that a truly immediate legal answer to these can be given, and so that its existence can be widely disseminated.
Below is a brief description of NA.F.TH.A.’s goals and operation:
The direct action against racist violence is a collaboration of groups and individuals, which aims to defend our city from neo-Nazi practices, which are becoming widespread.
By neo-Nazi practices, we refer to criminal incidents or violent acts or humiliating and degrading behaviours against people who are targeted due to their ethnic origin, skin colour, gender, political or religious beliefs, disability, or sexual orientation.
The goals of NA.F.TH.A. are:
- Timely publicisation and investigation of incidents of racist violence – humiliating treatment
- Legal and moral victim support

- Public denouncement of the incidents
- Networking and coordination of individuals and group for organized collective action
