HLHR CAT Statement

The Hellenic League for Human Rights (hereafter HLHR) would like to extend its tanks to the United Nations Committee against Torture for the opportunity to express it views regarding the implementation of the UN Convention against Torture by Greece in the light of the consideration of its 5th and 6th periodic Reports. The HLHR will not embark, with its present statement, upon a detailed commentary of the Greek Reports, apart from noting that the Reports abstain from providing information on the actual situation in the field and the related problems. The HLHR will focus on certain thorny issues and recent developments, which in its view will contribute to portray the overall situation in Greece.
