{"id":695,"date":"2016-11-18T20:22:32","date_gmt":"2016-11-18T17:22:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hlhrdemo.rurban.gr\/en\/?p=695"},"modified":"2018-12-24T05:18:00","modified_gmt":"2018-12-24T02:18:00","slug":"ref-info","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/en\/ref-info\/","title":{"rendered":"Provision of legal and other essential information to refugees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hellenic League for Human Rights implemented the project <strong>\u201cProvision of legal and other essential information to refugees\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0, which started in August 2016 and lasted, after an extension period, until December 2017.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Since August 2016 three (3) field teams consisted by legal experts and interpreters provided legal counselling at the accomodation centers of Softex &#8211; Diavata and Dion &#8211; Elpida in Thessaloniki as well as at Skaramagkas accomodation center in Attica region.<\/p>\n<p>The main goals of the project were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide legal and other essential information to refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants<\/li>\n<li>To increase\u00a0 awareness of refugees on their rights, asylum application\u00a0 procedures as well as on relocation depending on the category of refugees involved<\/li>\n<li>To confront and eliminate the misinformation of\u00a0 the\u00a0 refugees\u00a0 from\u00a0 the network of people who exploit the current humanitarian crisis\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>To assist in family reunification and submission of asylum applications<\/li>\n<li>To identify people who fall under the category of extremely vulnerable for targeted\u00a0assistance<\/li>\n<li>To pursue applicable Strategic Litigation cases before Greek and European courts of justice<\/li>\n<li>To refer cases of specific needs to the bodies competent for their treatment<\/li>\n<li>To assist the refugee population in treating basic everyday needs through enhanced provision\u00a0of information with multiple means<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project included also the creation of a <strong>website<\/strong> as well as a <strong>mobile application<\/strong>\u00a0 providing information to the target groups.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit the webpage: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rights4refugees.gr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rights4refugees.gr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>final report<\/strong> of the project is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/FINAL_REPORT-EN.12.2017.15.1..pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The project was funded under the Open Society Initiative for Europe (OSIFE) by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.opensocietyfoundations.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Open Society Foundations<\/a> [Grant ID: OR 2016-28052]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-926\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/open_society_foundations.jpg\" alt=\"open_society_foundations\" width=\"500\" height=\"162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/open_society_foundations.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/open_society_foundations-768x250.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
