{"id":3863,"date":"2017-04-11T14:09:28","date_gmt":"2017-04-11T11:09:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/?p=3863\/"},"modified":"2018-12-24T05:11:12","modified_gmt":"2018-12-24T02:11:12","slug":"results-activities-field-teams-project-provision-legal-essential-information-refugees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/en\/results-activities-field-teams-project-provision-legal-essential-information-refugees\/","title":{"rendered":"Results of the activities of field teams of the project  \u201cProvision of legal and other essential information to refugees\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\">11\/4\/2017<\/p>\n<p>Hellenic League for Human Rights implements, since August 2016, the project &#8220;<em><strong>Provision of legal and other essential information to refugees<\/strong><\/em>\u201d<strong>*<\/strong>, in which legal counseling and other essential information is provided to asylum seekers and refugees in accommodation structures in Northern Greece and Attica.<!--more--><br \/>\n \u00a0<br \/>\n Six (6) legal and\/or political scientists field officers, in collaboration with a legal coordinator, a networking and advocacy officer, are providing legal counseling, in individual or group sessions at \u00a0SOFTEX refugee site \u00a0and Dion refugee site in Thessaloniki (until January 2017) and at Scaramangas site in Attica region.<br \/>\n \u00a0<br \/>\n These structures provide accommodation and hospitality in refugee populations coming mainly from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Among the beneficiaries are mainly Kurds, Gezinti, Hazara, Tajik, Ghazalbas, Pashtun, Palestinians.<br \/>\n \u00a0<br \/>\n Furthermore, within the project, the website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rights4refugees.gr\" target=\"_blank\">www.rights4refugees.gr<\/a> has been in operation, through which refugees and asylum seekers have the opportunity to be informed, inter alia, on their rights and asylum procedures, resettlement, family reunification and find other important information in English, Arabic and Farsi.<br \/>\n \u00a0<br \/>\n Shortly, during the reference period from September 2016 to March 2017 the legal field officers have examined about<strong> 600 requests<\/strong> in one or more individual or group sessions (follow-up meetings), from more than <strong>400 beneficiaries<\/strong>, covering the following topics :<br \/>\n \u00a0<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 rights of asylum seekers &#8211; refugees<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 vulnerability issues: rights and procedures<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 asylum application: procedure, case-path, interviews<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 family reunification and relative procedures<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 relocation issues and relative procedures<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 individual &#8211; social rights (marriage, baptism, divorce, naming, etc.)<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 issues in relation to criminal law<br \/>\n \u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 documents loss, issuing of documents<br \/>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The field teams have contributed with the findings of the field in the preparation of the League\u2019s positions on refugees, announced by HLHR under the title &#8220;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/en\/positions-refugee-situation-face-challenges-weaknesses\/\">Positions on the refugee situation.
