{"id":3296,"date":"2014-10-10T13:21:59","date_gmt":"2014-10-10T10:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/?p=3296\/"},"modified":"2018-12-24T05:41:02","modified_gmt":"2018-12-24T02:41:02","slug":"support-legal-services-victims-hate-crime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/en\/support-legal-services-victims-hate-crime\/","title":{"rendered":"Support and legal services for victims of hate crime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The project entitled \u201cSupport and legal services for victims of hate crime\u201d concerned support and legal services to victims of hate crime, through interventions for the recognition, reporting, and addressing hate crime<!--more--> in a comprehensive manner, comprised of the following stages:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Recognizing and reporting;<\/li>\n<li>First-instance medical aid;<\/li>\n<li>First-instance legal aid and support;<\/li>\n<li>Continuous psychosocial support;<\/li>\n<li>Legal representation of victims, and<\/li>\n<li>Drafting a report of the outcomes, including recommendations to the authorities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It is a comprehensive system for recognizing, recording and addressing hate crime, and will be placed under the auspices of the Racist Violence Recording Network (<a href=\"http:\/\/rvrn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rvrn.org<\/a>), the two main goals of which are:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>a. To provide concrete and comprehensive support services to victims of hate crime, and<\/p>\n<p>b. through this service provision, to highlight the procedural, institutional and legal gaps, and to formulate recommendations to the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Together with the Hellenic League for Human Rights, the project partners were:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mdmgreece.gr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Medecins du Monde<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gcr.gr\/index.php\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greek Council for Refugees<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/refugeegr.blogspot.gr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Greek Forum of Refugees<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/colouryouth.gr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colour Youth<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/metadrasi.org\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">METAction\/METAdrasi<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/syn-eirmos.gr\/syneirmos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Babel Day Centre<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Through this project, participating partners provided legal help, first-instance medical aid, psychosocial support, and legal representation to victims.<\/p>\n<p>Project services were offered anonymously and free of charge to all citizens without exceptions, and were provided by specialist professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Project&#8217;s brochure <a href=\"http:\/\/rvrn.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/RVRN_2016-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The project duration was 18.5 months, and was implemented between 17\/10\/2014 \u2013 30\/04\/2016.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The final project deliverables can be accessed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hlhr.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/rvrn-results-gr.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(in Greek).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The project was funded by the programme \u201cWe are all Citizens \u2013 enhancing social welfare service provision to vulnerable social groups\u201d \u2013 which is part of EEA Grants for Greece. The Bodossaki Foundation is the Programme Operator.
